I am a senior pursuing a degree in Environmental Science. I grew up in Asheville, NC and enjoy yoga, hiking, and building art sculptures in my free time. Before joining the Abolhasani lab, I spent 2 years working for a material science engineering company and developing my engineering skills. I spent most of that time living in Wuhan, China. My main project was designing and building a water reclaim and clarification system to clean industrial wastewater that was being dumped in a river. My other projects included the development of a new type of ceramic foam, the development of PLC controlled processes, and the implementation of environmental health and safety plans. I plan to pursue a master’s in chemical engineering after I finish my undergraduate degree.
Currently, I am developing a high-throughput reaction monitoring strategy using automated microfluidic flow reactors and high-performance liquid chromatography.
